Membership dues.......

There is always paperwork.

Due to the Covid disruption your Blues Society suspended

membership dues (for current members) in 2021.

January 2022 not only begins the new year,

but it is RENENWAL TIME for the Blues Society

members and supporters.

You will be receiving a reminder in our Society newsletter.

Your support is critical to the continuing orperations of the

Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society.

Thank you for your past support and for making this Society a family.

December 2021

In spite of the Covid disruptions

your Blues Society has finished off

the year on an upward trend.

November 14, 2021 was one long day.

First, we put on a competition for

the January 2022 IBC. We were

rewarded by five very talented

bands and two single/duo entries.

The audience greeted and cheered each

of the contestants.  The competitors

were given great support by the audience

and the bands really put their hearts

into their performances.  A huge Thank

You to each and every player.

As the day rolled  on we did not slow down

as the Legion was switched over for our

regular 2nd Sunday Jam.

Our wonderful November host,

the Rick Berthod Band,

really won the hearts of the

audience and got the Jam rolling.

Additionally, we were blessed to share the

company of the newly weds:

Dave and Ashley Sanders.

December 12th was our last gig

for 2021 and thanks to the

Truth Jones Band

we finished off the year going

full speed.  Our host band lifted

everyone's spirit.

Additionally we had a fabulous showing of

Christmas gifts for the children's toy drive.

Thank you all.

It is onward and upward for 2022.

Please note that 2022 is open

to new memberships and

renewal of existing memberships.

SCVBS Board of Directors

Who we are and

what we are about

The Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society was established in 2003 and is one of the younger Blues Societies in the world.  We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and we are affiliated with the international organization "The Blues Foundation" in Memphis, Tennessee.

Our mission is to preserve and promote the Blues music art form. We will accomplish this with many ongoing society events. We support the local Santa Clarita Valley Blues Community, the Wrightwood Blues Society, and Los Angeles Blues Society through this website.

We will be publishing society-member band links and gig schedules, monthly blues jams and other events as well as fundraisers and concerts.

Come and check us out at our next monthly "2nd  Sunday Blues Jam" at the Newhall American Legion Post 507.  See our Calendar and Events page for any schedules pertaining to the SCV Blues Society and community.

If you have a passion for the Blues, we would love to have you in our membership.  You do not have to be a musician to join, just have an appreciation for the Blues and love to have fun!

Letter From The President

Looks like I'm back as the interim President of the Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society.  With Jeri and Chuck Goldenhar moving to Nashville. I will gladly step in to handel the job. It is a great honor to again receive this position.  The SCVBS is a large part of my music and social life, and I feel truly privileged to have the opportunity to serve once again.

Now that we are out of the woods with the Pandemic. (Hopefully) The new SCVBS board of directors will be taking this organization to the next level.  It may take a few months to get back on track, but we will get there. Espectially with help from our new directors Eddie Ray Smith and Dana Martin.  We will, however, always be looking for ways to reach more Blues Lovers out there and welcome many new members to our musical family!

If you love the blues as we do, we welcome you to join us in this endeavor.  Your input and involvement will be greatly appreciated.  Please feel free to discuss any issues with myself, Interim Vice President Steve Brittain, Secretary Leslie Wenke, Treasurer Julie Kuritzkes or any one of our directors.

Our Membership is filled with some of the most talented, caring and thoughtful people in the world - if you need a hand they will lend it, if they have a contact they will share it, and together we will make it happen!  That is what makes us strong, that's what will make us healthy, and that is what will make us one of the Best Blues Societies in the World!

The SCVBS board is moving forward with our goals at a brisk pace.  Now is the time to jump in and Chair a Committee or Volunteer to help at one of our many functions.  Together, we will continue to move forward toward success.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Thank You...Chuck Strong                       March 13th, 2022
